Donating your RV or motorhome can be a rewarding way to give back to your community in Arkansas. Whether you’re an avid traveler or someone who has enjoyed weekend getaways, there comes a time when you might find yourself ready to part with your vehicle. Perhaps you’re looking to upgrade, or maybe health considerations have made traveling less accessible. Whatever the reason, your donation can make a significant impact.
Arkansas Auto Bridge is committed to making the donation process as seamless as possible. Many donors have found themselves with RVs that are no longer in use, taking up valuable space. These recreational vehicles, whether they are well-loved or require some TLC, can be transformed into vital resources for those in need through our programs. How pickup works
Pickup logistics for RV and motorhome donations require careful coordination to ensure a smooth process. Most donors choose to have their vehicles picked up from a storage lot, which is common practice due to space considerations. Specialized RV-transport flatbeds are generally utilized for larger Class A and Class C models. If you are unable to be on-site during pickup, our team will work closely with RV parks or storage facilities to coordinate the logistics. Keep in mind that vehicle length and height are important parameters, with most states enforcing a maximum height clearance of 13’6”. We aim to make the donation process as simple as possible for you.
What drives donation value
The value of your RV or motorhome donation is primarily influenced by the condition of its house systems, including the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning. A well-maintained RV with good service records can significantly increase its value, whereas issues like water damage can lead to major devaluation. Recent maintenance records are beneficial, especially when appraising the vehicle for tax deduction purposes. Additionally, seasonality plays a role in the timing of your donation; spring auctions often yield the highest values. If you're donating a classic RV, an appraisal from a qualified appraiser will be necessary, especially if you intend to claim a significant tax deduction.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) for off-road vehicles
- Recent service records
- Appraisal for classic RVs (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
- Any prior bill of sale documents
Arkansas specifics
In Arkansas, the DMV has specific rules regarding the titling of RVs and motorhomes. It's important to ensure that the title is clear and in your name to complete the donation successfully. In cases where the vehicle is being transferred without a title, a bill of sale may suffice, but this can vary by situation. Arkansas Auto Bridge aims to assist you in navigating these requirements, making the donation process as straightforward as possible.
